An Act amending the act of May 3, 1933 (P.L.242, No.86), referred to as the Cosmetology Law, further providing for eligibility requirements for examination and for apprentices in cosmetology salons.

Added explicit eligibility requirements for cosmetology examination including minimum age of 16, good moral character, completion of tenth grade education or equivalent, and either 1,250 hours of cosmetology school training or 2,000 hours of apprenticeship experience.

Modified instructor qualifications to require cosmetology teachers to have at least five years of experience as licensed cosmetologists in Pennsylvania.

Modified apprentice supervision requirements to mandate no less than two licensed cosmetologists in addition to the instructor for each apprentice in any salon.

Modified reporting requirements to allow either a licensed cosmetologist or teacher instructing apprentices to report quarterly hours to the board.
