An Act amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, No.69), known as The Second Class Township Code, in contracts, further providing for letting contracts.

This bill updates Pennsylvania's Second Class Township Code to clarify how townships must handle security bonds for construction contracts. It requires successful bidders to provide a performance bond, letter of credit, or other acceptable security within 20 days of winning a bid, unless the contract is already covered by existing state bonding laws. If a bidder fails to provide this security or complete the work within that timeframe, the contract becomes automatically void. The change applies directly to second-class townships and their boards of supervisors when they advertise for bids on public works projects.
