An Act amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in lighting equipment, further providing for use and display of illuminated signs.
This bill allows drivers working for ride-sharing companies to display illuminated signs inside their vehicles to show their status. The ride-sharing companies must submit these signs for approval by either the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission or the Philadelphia Parking Authority, depending on where the service is offered. Once submitted, the relevant agency has 15 business days to review the sign and either approve or reject it. The law also prohibits these signs from using blue light or mimicking the emergency lights used by authorized vehicles.
