HB 3012 Oregon House · 2025 Regular Session

Relating to voting in school district elections.

HB 3012 allows 16- and 17-year-olds who are registered to vote to participate in school district elections, such as voting for school board members. To qualify, they must be registered at least 20 days before the election, reside within the school district, and meet standard voter registration requirements. The bill requires the Secretary of State to create a separate voting process that provides these voters with ballots limited to school district elections, using the same ballot style as other voters in the same election. This change applies only to school district elections and takes effect for elections occurring on or after January 1, 2027.
