Relating to health care interpreters; declaring an emergency.

Summary
Requires health care providers, including coordinated care organizations, and ] companies providing health care interpreters to health care providers to use health care interpreters who are listed on health care interpreter registry as being qualified or certified by Oregon Health Authority. Specifies ] Requires authority to adopt by rule exceptions. Directs Commissioner of Bureau of Labor and Industries to establish by rule standards, policies and processes to monitor compliance with and enforce requirements. Requires authority to cooperate with Oregon Council on Health Care Interpreters to ] establish registry of qualified and certified health care interpreters and provide statewide health care interpreter training . Requires authority, by September 15, 2020, to make recommendations ] report to interim committee of House of Representatives related to health on design of health care interpreter program meeting specified criteria ] costs to implement establishment of health care interpreter registry and to provide health care interpreter training . Requires companies providing health care interpreters to register with authority and meet certain requirements. ] Makes health care interpreters subject workers for purposes of workers' compensation benefits. Declares emergency, effective on passage.
