To provide for the offering of the pledge of allegiance to the flag by the members of the House of Representatives at the opening session of each week.

HR 5 requires all members of the U.S. House of Representatives to recite the standard Pledge of Allegiance ("I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all") at the start of each weekly session. This applies directly to every House member during the opening of every legislative week. The bill establishes a routine procedural requirement for House sessions without altering substantive laws or policies. It was adopted by the House on January 6, 2025.
