Revise the law governing the Child Care Choice Voucher Program

This bill amends the law governing Ohio's Child Care Choice Voucher Program to update how families receive financial assistance for child care costs. It directs the Department of Children and Youth to use specific funding to provide vouchers to eligible families whose caretaker parents are employed or in education or training programs. To qualify, families must have incomes below 240% of the federal poverty line but not meet the stricter income limits for the Publicly Funded Child Care Program. The bill also sets a requirement that payment rates be established by November 2026 and removes the mandate that family child care homes use the Step Up to Quality Program rating system.
