AN ACT to amend and reenact subsection 10 of section 50-25.1-02 and section 50-25.1-11.1 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the definition of a children's advocacy center and the confidentiality of communications and records in the possession of a children's advocacy center.

Updated the definition of 'children's advocacy center' to require full, accredited, or associate membership in the national children's alliance and to specify the center's role in coordinating multidisciplinary responses to child abuse allegations.

Added a new provision requiring the state department to conduct criminal history record checks on board members, employees, job applicants, contractors, and volunteers who have contact with children at children's advocacy centers.

Strengthened confidentiality rules for records related to forensic examinations, interviews, advocacy, and therapy, specifying exactly who may access these records and under what circumstances.
