AN ACT to create and enact a new section to chapter 54-35 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the creation of a legislative task force on government efficiency; to provide for a legislative management report; to provide an expiration date; and to declare an emergency.

Task force membership composition changed: removed the chief information officer, added the director of the office of management and budget, and adjusted the number of legislative representatives from two to three per chamber.

Added requirement for the task force chairman to be selected from among the legislative assembly members appointed by the majority leaders of each chamber, rather than the member appointed by the governor.

Added specific duties for the task force to request program evaluations from the state auditor or independent private auditing firm using generally accepted performance audit standards.

Task force membership terms established as two-year terms with an expiration date of July 31, 2031.
