S 9969 New York Senate · 2025 Regular Session

Authorizes the town justice of the town of Dix to be a nonresident of such town

This bill allows the town justice of Dix, New York, to live outside the town while still holding the office. It changes state laws to exempt this specific position from the usual requirement that local officials must be residents of the community they serve. The only condition is that the town justice must reside within Schuyler County. All other town justices in the state must remain residents of their respective towns unless a different law applies.
