Provides for the incorporation of the New Hartford Volunteer Exempt Firefighters' Benevolent Association

This bill creates a new not-for-profit corporation called the "New Hartford Volunteer Exempt Firefighters' Benevolent Association" for active volunteer members of the New Hartford Fire Department who meet specific eligibility criteria. Membership is limited to volunteer firefighters who have served at least five years and hold "exempt" status under state law, excluding paid firefighters and those removed from the department. The association can provide financial aid to injured or disabled members and their families, maintain a headquarters, promote welfare through social activities, and collect certain fire insurance premium taxes from properties in New Hartford (starting in 2027) to fund these purposes. The bill establishes governance rules, including board requirements and membership termination conditions, and specifies that collected taxes must directly support the association's defined charitable goals.
