MINOR
This bill was amended to clarify its applicability by explicitly including the City University of New York (CUNY) alongside the State University of New York (SUNY). Additionally, the implementation requirement for university boards was simplified from a general mandate to 'adopt such procedures' to a specific directive to 'adopt a policy'.

The bill's scope was expanded to explicitly include CUNY institutions, ensuring volunteer firefighters and EMTs at CUNY receive the same academic credit benefits as those at SUNY.
SCOPE

Added explicit reference to the City University of New York to ensure the academic credit benefits apply to students at both SUNY and CUNY institutions.

Changed the requirement for university boards to 'adopt such procedures' to 'adopt a policy', providing clearer guidance on how the new credit provisions should be implemented.
