Authorizes an optional twenty-five year retirement plan for fire marshals I or supervisors of such title in Suffolk county

S 5754 creates an optional retirement plan for fire marshals I and supervisors (including chief fire marshal, assistant chief fire marshal, fire marshal II, and fire marshal I) employed by Suffolk County or participating towns/villages. Eligible members can retire after 25 years of service with a pension equal to half their final average salary, increasing by 1/60th for each additional year up to a maximum of 75% of their final average salary. The plan requires Suffolk County or a local municipality to formally adopt it via resolution before it applies to employees. This option is available as an alternative to existing retirement plans and does not affect current retirement benefits.
