Provides that a tenant has the right to display the United States flag

This bill (S 3462) gives tenants the right to display the U.S. flag on their rental property under specific conditions. Landlords cannot prevent tenants from displaying a cloth, fabric, or paper flag on a pole, staff, or in a window, as long as the display follows federal flag rules (4 U.S.C. Chapter 1), local laws, and doesn’t interfere with other tenants’ space. Tenants must notify landlords in advance about flag placement and size to comply with local zoning and building characteristics. The bill does not override lease terms requiring tenants to restore property to original condition at move-out, and tenants remain responsible for any damage caused by their flag display.
