Requires training of teachers in dyslexia identification

This bill requires teachers of kindergarten through fifth grade to complete specific training on identifying dyslexia as a condition for obtaining or renewing their teaching certification. The training must be provided by the Center for Dyslexia and Dysgraphia, which will set the curriculum, determine the number of required hours, and establish standards for training providers. Once enacted, the state education commissioner will issue regulations to enforce these new requirements, with the law taking effect on the first day of July following its passage.
