Celebrating Peruvian Gastronomy Weekend on August 23-24, 2025

This is a ceremonial resolution (not a law) that recognizes the SUMAQ Peruvian Food Festival taking place August 23-24, 2025, at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York. It formally acknowledges the festival's role in celebrating Peruvian cultural heritage and cuisine, including its 15-year history and 25+ participating food vendors. The resolution directs the legislature to "pause in its deliberations" to honor the event and transmits a copy to the festival director, Vicky Diaz. It has no legal effect and does not create new policies or impact any individuals or groups beyond symbolic recognition.
