Requires victims of firearm violence be offered and/or provided psychiatric care

Bill A 8580 mandates that general hospitals develop policies and procedures for identifying, assessing, treating, and referring victims of firearm violence. Hospitals would be required to train their medical, clinical, and security personnel on these new protocols. Upon discharge, hospitals must inform victims of available psychiatric services and coordinate these services if requested.
