Authorizes Kevin Burns to receive certain service credit under a twenty year retirement plan

Bill A 7978 authorizes Kevin Burns, a firefighter with the Binghamton Fire Department, to receive service credit under a 20-year retirement plan. This allows him to switch from his current 25-year retirement plan. The change is contingent upon the City of Binghamton electing to cover the associated additional costs and filing a resolution with the state comptroller within 180 days. Kevin Burns must then file a request within one year to be covered by the new plan. The City of Binghamton will bear all past service costs, which can be amortized over a ten-year period.
