This bill permits Niskayuna Central School District to establish an insurance reserve fund. The fund would allow the district to directly pay for insurance-related claims (like property damage or liability lawsuits) instead of purchasing insurance coverage upfront. It can be used for claims where insurance is required, but excludes specific risks listed in other laws and cannot replace existing reserve funds. The district must follow both this law and Education Law Article 74 when using the fund.
