Establishes the ammunition purchase certification act

Bill A 3825, titled the "ammunition purchase certification act," establishes a requirement for individuals to obtain a valid ammunition purchase permit number before buying ammunition in the state. The Division of State Police will issue these permits, which are granted after a background check or application approval and are valid for one year. A small fee is associated with the initial issuance and any subsequent renewals. Purchasers must present their permit card or its unique identification number when buying ammunition. Purchasing ammunition without a valid permit number would constitute a Class A misdemeanor.
