Establishes a full year youth and young adult employment immersion program
What changed between versions
Changed the program from a permanent statewide initiative to a pilot program limited to three specific social services districts, with one required to be in New York City.
Added a requirement that the pilot must be operational within 9 months and run for a minimum of 24 months.
Updated eligibility to explicitly exclude individuals currently enrolled in post-secondary education or trade schools, and added specific conditions for high school students (must remain enrolled) and graduates.
Adjusted the program time split: education and readiness activities must now be up to 25% of time (previously 20%), while paid employment must be at least 75% of time (previously 80%).
Added a new definition for 'Professional and transferable skills' to include collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and self-advocacy.
