A 10771 New York Assembly · 2025 Regular Session

Authorizes the town clerk of the town of Bethany, county of Genesee, to be nonresidents of such town

This bill allows the town clerk of Bethany in Genesee County to live outside of the town. It creates an exception to the usual rule that local officials must be residents of the area they serve. Specifically, the town clerk must live in a neighboring town or village within the same county. All other towns in the state must continue to require their town clerks to be local residents unless a different law is passed.
