Relates to warnings to be posted and provided by firearms dealers

This New York bill requires licensed firearms dealers to display and distribute specific written warnings to customers about the dangers of keeping weapons in the home. The warnings must state that access to firearms increases the risk of suicide, death during domestic disputes, and accidental deaths, while also providing the national suicide prevention lifeline number. Dealers must post these notices at their sales locations and give copies to buyers at the time of purchase, while licensing officers must also provide the warning when issuing permits. Failure to comply with these requirements is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to 15 days in jail, with each day of non-compliance counted as a separate offense.
