Provides for a line of duty presumption for disabilities of deputy sheriffs in certain cities

This bill establishes a legal presumption that heart diseases causing disability or death among deputy sheriffs in cities with populations of one million or more were incurred while performing their duties. To qualify, the employee must be part of a competitive civil service list, have passed a physical exam upon entry that showed no signs of the condition, and the claim must not be covered under workers' compensation or labor laws. If the presumption is met, the affected deputy sheriff would receive a pension equal to three-fourths of their final average salary upon retirement. The legislation applies only to these specific large cities and does not affect other law enforcement agencies or disability claims outside this scope.
