Requires the installation of climb deterrent fencing on certain bridges

This bill requires the New York State Bridge Authority to install climb deterrent fencing on all bridges it manages. The law defines this fencing as barriers specifically designed to prevent climbing by eliminating grip points and using features like welded wire mesh and spike collars. Contracts for building these fences must be approved by the commissioner and will only become effective three years after the bill is passed, applying to work started on or after that date.
