Prohibits DEP from limiting number of mobile sport fishing permits issued annually; requires valid registration with New Jersey Saltwater Recreational Registry Program.
This bill directs the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to stop limiting the number of mobile sport fishing permits issued each year and to process applications in the order they are received. Starting in 2027, the department will also require applicants to hold a valid Conservation Identification Number before approving any permit applications. Additionally, the legislation mandates that at least 10% of the revenue from these permit sales be used for the maintenance of Island Beach State Park.
