Requires certain public water systems to publish certain financial and employee information on Internet.
This bill requires public water systems in New Jersey to create a webpage on their municipality's or county's website to share financial and operational details with the public. The affected water purveyors must post information including service area maps, adopted budgets, financial reports, annual audits, contact details for management staff, relevant policy statements, and a list of outside professionals who received $17,500 or more in compensation during the previous fiscal year. The law applies to public water systems with more than 500 service connections and excludes utilities regulated by the Board of Public Utilities. These systems must maintain the webpage to provide increased public access to information about their operations and activities. The bill takes effect immediately upon passage.
