Provides full forfeiture of pension of elected or appointed official convicted of any crime touching office.

S 2544 requires that any elected or appointed New Jersey public official convicted of a crime involving their office (such as misconduct related to their duties) must forfeit their entire pension, regardless of whether the pension system covered that specific office. This expands current law, which only mandated forfeiture if the pension system had covered the office where the crime occurred. The board of trustees for any pension fund must order the full forfeiture for such convictions, removing the previous coverage requirement. The law takes effect immediately.
