Codifies Bringing Veterans Home Initiative.
What changed between versions
The effective date was changed from the first day of the sixth month following enactment to the first day of the twelfth month following enactment, giving agencies an additional six months before the law takes effect.
Section 1(g) removed the Office of Homelessness Prevention as the body that determines what other goals and programming are appropriate. That authority now rests directly with the Department of Community Affairs and the Department of Veterans Affairs, eliminating the 'upon consultation with' language.
Section 1(f) changed the description of the initiative's launch from being in both DCA and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to being in DCA 'in coordination with' the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, making DCA the clear lead agency.
Four additional co-sponsors were added: Senators Beach, Amato, Moriarty, and Johnson.
