Establishes Artisanal Food Council in Department of Agriculture.

This bill creates a new Artisanal Food Council within the New Jersey Department of Agriculture to support small-scale food producers and local farmers. The council will consist of nine unpaid public members appointed by the Governor, the Speaker of the General Assembly, and the President of the Senate, representing farming, distribution, and production sectors from urban, suburban, and rural areas. Its main duties include identifying industry needs, connecting farmers with local entrepreneurs, managing grants for artisanal food operations, and reviewing state policies to improve coordination. The council must meet at least twice a year and submit biannual reports to the Governor and Legislature detailing economic trends and challenges facing the artisanal food industry.
