This bill requires healthcare providers in New Jersey to offer non-invasive prenatal testing to all pregnant persons starting at 10 weeks of pregnancy, screening for Down syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities. Providers must explain the benefits of testing, provide information about these conditions, and obtain written acknowledgment of this information (with the option for written refusal). Health insurance plans, including Medicaid, must cover the full cost of the testing with no out-of-pocket costs for patients.
