Establishes certain marine firefighting training course requirements.

This bill requires all New Jersey firefighters (both paid and volunteer) who perform fire suppression, firefighting, or rescue operations to complete Coast Guard-approved marine firefighting training. Specifically, it mandates: (1) basic training for all firefighters within one year of the law's effective date, (2) advanced training within two years of completing basic training, and (3) biennial in-service training thereafter. The bill also establishes requirements for firefighter instructors, allowing qualified personnel to teach these courses after completing specialized instructor training. These requirements apply to all land-based firefighters responding to water-related incidents, with recruit programs including the basic course from the start.
