AJR 37 establishes a 21-member task force to study cannabis-related traffic fatalities in New Jersey and develop recommendations to prevent them. The task force will include state officials (like the Attorney General and Transportation Commissioner), law enforcement representatives, and public members with expertise in traffic safety and cannabis impacts. It will examine factors such as cannabis's effect on driving ability, crash statistics before/after legalization, public awareness gaps, and effective prevention strategies. The task force must report annually for five years (starting 24 months after formation) to the Governor and Legislature, then expire.
