A 3254 New Jersey General Assembly · 2024-2025 Regular Session

Requires certain warehouse operators to implement air pollution reduction and mitigation plans.

This bill requires warehouse operators using more than 50,000 square feet in a warehouse larger than 100,000 square feet to implement approved air pollution reduction plans. Operators must earn "pollution reduction points" through activities like purchasing zero-emission vehicles, installing solar panels, or adding air filtration systems at nearby community buildings. The Department of Environmental Protection will develop a template for standard plans, which operators must submit annually for approval, with the first compliance period beginning 36 months after the bill's effective date. Non-compliance could result in civil penalties up to $25,000 per violation.
