Revises provisions relating to health care. (BDR 40-1037)
What changed between versions
The Nevada Health Care Workforce and Access Program, a competitive funding program to address health care provider shortages, was removed from the bill.
New requirements were added for the electronic maintenance, transmittal, and exchange of health information, including provisions prohibiting fees for electronic health records and setting timeframes for furnishing records to patients.
The definition of health care workforce needs was expanded to include health care professions, specialties, types of clinical services, and expertise, not just provider shortages.
The unfunded mandate section was updated to reference new section numbers (72.8 instead of 43, 44), and the bill title was updated to reflect the new focus on electronic health information.
