AB 2 exempts certain gaming establishments from existing liquor payment rules. Specifically, it removes the requirement for electronic funds transfers (or credit card payments with associated fees) between wholesale liquor dealers and retail stores operated by: (1) holders of nonrestricted gaming licenses (e.g., those with 16+ slot machines), or (2) holders of restricted gaming licenses who also hold a nonrestricted license or are affiliates of such license holders. This change directly affects retail liquor stores co-located with qualifying gaming operations. The exemption applies to payment methods for liquor deliveries, allowing these businesses to use alternative payment arrangements without triggering the standard electronic transfer deadlines or fee restrictions.
