Interim study to examine the ways in which the Legislature can take a more coordinated, proactive, and intentional policy role in understanding the impact of child care financing models that create or expand state-funded subsidies and federal child care subsidies to increase access, affordability, and expand coverage for working families in Nebraska

This legislative resolution directs the Nebraska Legislature to conduct an interim study on how to improve state-funded child care subsidies for working families. The study will examine current funding models, eligibility rules, and reimbursement systems under the Step Up to Quality Child Care Act to understand their impact on access and affordability. The Legislative Council's Executive Board will lead this review and report findings and recommendations to guide future legislation on early childhood education and child care policy.
