Interim study to explore methods for providing hearing notices for municipalities

This resolution proposes an interim study to examine how Nebraska municipalities can improve public notice for local government meetings. The study, led by the Urban Affairs Committee, would investigate adopting a statute similar to one currently used by smaller cities and villages (section 17-505.01) to apply uniformly to all municipalities. It does not create new law but would evaluate methods for ensuring timely and accessible hearing notices. The committee must report findings and recommendations to the Legislature after completing the study.
