Implements joint labor-management health and safety committee requirements for certain health care facilities

This bill requires certain hospitals and nursing facilities to create joint health and safety committees made up of equal numbers of employer and employee representatives. These committees must be co-chaired by one person from each side, and employees must be paid their regular wages while attending meetings or performing committee duties. The groups will review safety programs, investigate injuries and complaints, conduct regular workplace inspections, and develop training to improve conditions for workers. Facilities that fail to comply face daily fines of up to $5,000, and the law also prohibits employers from interfering with or retaliating against committee members.
