Changes provisions governing testing of community water system hydrant inspections

This bill requires community water systems to implement a hydrant inspection program that includes annual testing, repairs for broken hydrants, and a plan to flush hydrants and dead-end main lines. The law also mandates that these systems maintain records of their inspections and tests for six years and map the location of every hydrant using a geographic information system within five years of August 28, 2020. However, the requirements do not apply to state parks, large cities, specific charter counties, or large public utility companies.
