Creates provisions relating to insurance coverage of drugs

This bill establishes rules for health insurance plans in the state regarding prescription drug coverage starting January 1, 2025. It prohibits insurers from forcing patients to switch to a different drug deemed more appropriate by the insurance company unless the patient's doctor provides written approval and the change benefits the patient's health. The law explicitly allows for the substitution of interchangeable biological products and does not apply to drugs already subject to step therapy protocols.
