SB 2534 would require the Mississippi Governor to appoint a private auditor by June 2026 to examine whether the Mississippi State Department of Health (DOH) and the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure comply with three specific laws: federal/state abstinence education rules, the REAP Act, and the Women's Health Defense Act of 2013. The auditor could request documents, conduct interviews, and ask written questions (to be answered within 60 days) and must submit a preliminary report within 180 days of appointment. Annual reports detailing findings would be required starting January 1, 2027, and made public. The bill died in committee on February 3, 2026, and never became law.
