Mississippi Immunization Privacy and Parental Rights Act; enact.

SB 2533, the "Mississippi Immunization Privacy and Parental Rights Act," would give parents the right to opt minors out of Mississippi's statewide immunization database (MIIX) and allow adults to opt themselves out. It requires healthcare providers to obtain written consent before entering immunization records into MIIX and mandates that the state health department remove records within 30 days of an opt-out request. The bill prohibits denying medical care, school enrollment, or other services to individuals who opt out, and imposes penalties on providers who violate consent requirements. This bill died in committee on February 3, 2026, so it did not become law.
