This bill establishes a grant program to help Mississippi municipalities and counties repair, renovate, and improve veterans parks they operate or maintain. Local governments must apply to the Department of Finance and Administration and prove they have already set aside matching funds from local, private, or other sources to receive assistance. The program will be funded through a new special state treasury account called the Municipalities and Counties Veterans Parks Fund, which can only be used for these park improvements after legislative appropriation. The Department of Finance and Administration will manage the program and create rules to oversee how grants are distributed.
