Kratom Consumer Protection Act; enact.

SB 2735, the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, regulates kratom products sold in Mississippi by banning specific unsafe items and setting labeling rules. It prohibits retailers, distributors, and manufacturers from selling kratom products containing synthetic alkaloids, excessive 7-hydroxymitragynine (over 1% or 1mg per container), contaminants, or unregistered items. All products must display required labels listing ingredients, age restriction (no sales to under 21), and exact alkaloid levels (total, mitragynine, and 7-hydroxymitragynine). Manufacturers must register with the Department of Revenue, and the Department can require safety testing to verify label claims.
