Mississippi Mobile Sports Wagering Act; enact and dedicate proceeds to HOPE Scholarship Program.

SB 2379 would legalize mobile sports betting and online race book wagering in Mississippi, allowing licensed gaming establishments to partner with platforms that accept bets from Mississippi residents only. It requires platforms to obtain specific licenses, implement location verification and age checks (banning those under 21), and pay a fee on gross revenue from these activities. All collected fees would be directed exclusively to the HOPE Scholarship Program fund, which supports student financial aid. The bill died in committee on February 4, 2025, and did not become law.
