Occupational licensure boards; require all offices to be located in a state-owned building.

SB 2268 (Mississippi) would have required all occupational licensure boards in the state to relocate their offices to state-owned buildings by 2027, or as soon as possible. Existing boards currently in non-state buildings could not renew leases but wouldn’t need to break existing agreements, while new boards created after July 2025 must only use state-owned space. The bill also mandated that boards share office space and administrative staff where feasible to reduce costs. This bill died in committee on February 4, 2025, and never became law.
