HB 767 Mississippi House · 2025 Regular Session

Grand Gulf Military Monument Commission; revise composition of.

HB 767 increases the Grand Gulf Military Monument Commission from five to seven members. It adds two new members appointed by the Governor (after considering the House Speaker’s recommendations) and the Lieutenant Governor, both selected from anywhere in Mississippi ("state-at-large"). The existing five members must still reside in Claiborne County. The change takes effect July 1, 2025, and does not alter the commission’s purpose of overseeing the military monument.
