HB 1025 requires Mississippi's State Department of Health to create and distribute written materials about preeclampsia - a pregnancy complication - covering risk factors, early symptoms, and management. Healthcare providers (including physicians and nurse practitioners) must explain these materials to pregnant patients during their first prenatal visit. The bill, which died in committee in February 2025, would have applied to all pregnant women in Mississippi receiving care from participating providers, effective July 2025.
