Marshall County; authorize hiring of additional part-time county prosecuting attorneys.

This bill allows the Marshall County Board of Supervisors in Mississippi to hire extra part-time assistant prosecuting attorneys if they choose to do so. The county would set the specific duties for these new hires and pay them an annual salary or appearance fee capped at 90% of what the elected county prosecuting attorney earns. This compensation would be the only payment made by the county for these positions, overriding any conflicting existing laws. Although the bill was referred to a committee in March 2024, it did not advance further and ultimately died in committee in May 2024.
